"My biggest concerns before choosing Byron for my son's new home were; Would he be physically cared for, kept comfortable, safe, clean and attended to for medical concerns? Would he be able to participate in meaningful activities? Would staff be friendly and receptive when my son attempted to converse with them? Would they be accessible and follow up promptly if I had questions or concerns?

I am happy to report all of my concerns were happily addressed, and continue to be. My son's
favorite activities are the group activities involving music, the ability to enjoy the outdoors on nice days, holiday celebrations and mealtimes! He also loves the coffee/snack bar and cafe located in the building.

But most of all he enjoys interacting with peers and staff who have now become family.

I would tell anyone considering Byron Health Center that it is the Rolls Royce of care facilities in Fort Wayne. In my former career as a Mental Health Professional at Park Center I had the opportunity to visit many facilities in Fort Wayne, and hands down Byron is the best on every level: care and commitment of staff, level of consistent care and now a beautiful new building with ample room and opportunities for socializing."
