Happy spring everyone!

Byron got into the spirit and sprung into action with our 6th annual Byron’s Got Talent Show.

It took place on Sunday March 24th at 2:00 pm.  Residents, and team members alike, provided 15 different acts to entertain us with music, laughs and LOTS of dancing!

Tina and her posse from Miller’s Place entertained us with an original fun rap rendition: Nurse, Nurse Baby winning “Most Entertaining Act”.  Janel and Bill won “Most Original Act” with Janel singing You’ll Never Walk Alone acapella while Bill played tambourine.  Bridgett and Dawn, Life Enrichment Specialists, won “Audience Choice Act” and had the room filled with laughter with their May’s Make-Up Tips comedy routine.  A great time was had by all!

After many long hours of practice and rehearsal, our all of our participants gain confidence and a taste for the limelight when they step out into the spotlight at Byron’s Got Talent.  The audience’s warm reception and endearing applause for each and every act allows our residents and team members to be ‘Stars’ for at least a day.

Lasting relationships are built over preparation for a performance, whether it be between residents in a group putting a song together or a team member and resident singing a duet.

The impact of Byron’s Got Talent on our residents is not really about who wins (but that is fun) but about sharing hidden talents with the ones we love and being welcomed, appreciated and accepted onstage in an environment that applauds the effort just as much as the result.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of those who participated and helped make the show a great success!  Most of all, seeing the smiles, laughter, pride and joy that it brought to the residents … Priceless!

Until next year … you can see the winning acts here!
