Jay Fox music performance @ Byron Health Center Eakin Family Room
May 15 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Byron Health Center will to host renowned accordionist Jay Fox in the Eakin Family Room on Wednesday, May 15th. Jay will also perform for residents on Swander Lane after the Eakin Family Room performance. Arrangements for the appearance are made through a partnership with Audiences Unlimited. This Community Program allow residents and team members to get up close and personal with a few members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic while being able to enjoy wonderful music in the comfort of home.

The program also encourages interaction and participation through singing along, dancing and clapping, creating smiles and sweet memories. Music takes the residents back in time. The feeling of yesterday – joy, laughter, precious moments shared with loved ones – comes back.

Audiences Unlimited creates cultural experiences that enrich the lives of people with limited access to the arts and inspires others to value a rich quality of life for all people. In 1972, Lillian C. Embick had a vision to bring joy and attention to people in nursing homes. With the support of her husband, Byron, she created a community-based non-profit arts organization that has reached more than 2.8 million audience members through music and the arts. 45 years later, her vision has blossomed into a nonprofit organization that serves Allen, DeKalb, Noble, LaGrange, and Steuben counties. From long-term care facilities to hospitals, Audiences Unlimited reaches those with diverse needs and abilities.

A Night of Magic with The Fort Wayne Magic Club @ Eakin Family Room @ Byron Health Center
May 16 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Byron Health Center will host ‘A Night of Magic’ on Thursday, May 16th, as part of its National Nursing Home Week celebration, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the magic starting at 7:00 p.m.  Members of The Fort Wayne Magic Club will hit the stage for this multi-focus magical event in the Byron Health Center Eakin Family Room, 12101 Lima Rd on the north side of Fort Wayne.

Residents, guests, team members and their families will enjoy a distinctive magic show designed with the entire family in mind.  The parents will have as much fun, if not more, than their children.  ‘A Night of Magic’ is open to the public and admission is free.

The Fort Wayne Magic Club magicians plan on interacting with the crowd prior to and during ‘A Night of Magic’. Attendees will delight in the ‘up close and personal’ card tricks, illusions and other fun presentations.  The show is sure to keep everyone wondering and talking about it for days afterwards.  “A Night of Magic will be a great event for families to enjoy an evening out together as we celebrate National Nursing Home Week,” said Chris Buckland, Byron Health Center’s Director of Life Enrichment.  “It’s also a great event for introducing audiences to live magic entertainment.  The families will be absolutely enthralled with The Fort Wayne Magic Club and their unique mix of comedy and magic.”

Some complimentary refreshments will be available during the performance.  Seating is limited, so it’s recommended that those interested in attending please arrive early to secure a good spot.  A Night of Magic will last approximately one hour.

The Fort Wayne Magic Club gathers as the A.H. Stoner International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 221 whose meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at Stoners Fun Store at 712 S Harrison St in Fort Wayne at 7:00 p.m.  Each club meeting is special, whether it’s a theme night, lecture or dinner out, nothing beats hanging out with people who enjoy magic. So whether you’re a hobbyist, semi-professional, professional magician or just getting started in magic, we want you to come and visit us at one of our meetings.  Visit www.ibmring221.com to find out more.
