Almost everyone has been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. Even recently here within our Byron Health Center family. Thank you to all that participated or helped raise funds!

CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk In Silence
Bryon Health Center walked and ran to help promote hearing health.
CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk in Silence is a national fund- and awareness-raising event created to help promote hearing health in our communities. The Fort Wayne Fort Wayne Breakfast Sertoma Club coordinates the Northeast Indiana CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk in Silence event on the beautiful campus of Concordia Theological Seminary located at 6600 N Clinton St in Fort Wayne.
CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk in Silence features a relaxing 5K walk or a self-timed 5K cross country run. The 5K walkers will have a choice of using either the cross country run course or a paved Olympic-size track. There is also live music, games, food and many raffle prize drawings. Half of the net proceeds from this event will be used by the Fort Wayne Breakfast Sertoma Club to support projects benefitting area schools and the HearCare Connection local non-profit clinic. The other half will help fund Sertoma’s national hearing health mission projects.
Medline’s Pink Glove Dance Contest
Bryon Health Center is proud to partner with the Breast Diagnostic Center to support Francine’s Friends in the 2016 Medline Pink Glove Dance contest.
Another 3rd place finish!
Byron Health Center and Breast Diagnostic Center have officially entered the 2016 Medline Pink Glove Dance Competition for a chance to win a $15,000 donation to Francine’s Friends mobile mammography and international social media attention. The filming may be over but these dedicated dancers need your vote! The Medline Pink Glove Dance is the only campaign of its kind to bring together nearly 200,000 healthcare professionals, patients and communities to celebrate hope for a cure. It’s also the only competition to honor all who’ve been affected by the disease through the joy of dancing.
The fun and creative video reminding everyone that early detection is the best prevention features participants dancing to the song Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah) by Andy Grammer and was filmed at Byron Health Center by local videographer Clay Stahlka. The dancers are all wearing pink-colored exam gloves to support breast cancer prevention and to let those facing the disease know they are not alone. Residents and staff from Byron Health Center as well as staff members of Fort Wayne Radiology and Breast Diagnostic Center also added their pink glove dancing to the video. The video features Byron Health Center CEO Deb Lambert, who is herself a two-time breast cancer survivor.
Byron Health Center partnered with Breast Diagnostic Center to create their video. Together, they have raised over $2,000 for Francine’s Friends mobile mammography.
Byron Health Center, Breast Diagnostic Center and Francine’s Friends mobile mammography would like to thank all those that made the filming possible including Clay Stahlka among others for their unrelenting support of the project.
In 2014, our Pink Glove Dance video won 3rd place on a national level and won an additional $2,500 for Francine’s Friends.
